Kadin Tiu

Kadin Tiu (b. 1987) is a Manila-based Filipino artist.
Her fascination with perception and its limitless boundaries drives her artistic vision. Drawing inspiration from her photographs, she crafts atmospheres and dimensions that are not immediately visible. Tiu seeks to blur the line between looking, seeing, and perceiving. Images of flowers transform into swirling lines, colors, patterns and even intricate layers - losing their original identity through her artistic touch.
Through photographs of textiles and her own garments, she crafts vast landscapes that explore the depths of her canvas. She encourages us to observe and connect with her findings, urging us to accept the notion that what once was can transform into something completely new. Her canvases are adorned with lines, folds, patterns, cuts, layers, wraps, and connections, enabling us to trace their beginnings and endings without limit. Her creations are rendered in oil on canvas.
Tiu's work has been showcased in galleries and art fairs across Manila, Bangkok, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and Spain. Additionally, her pieces have been included in both local and international art auctions. She has successfully held twelve solo exhibitions throughout her career.
