Kadin Tiu (b. 1987) is a Manila-based Filipino artist whose paintings investigate perception as an evolving process rather than a fixed act of seeing.

Drawing from photographs she takes herself, Tiu deconstructs flowers, textiles, and familiar patterns into layered visual systems that fluctuate between figuration and abstraction. Her practice examines the moment when an image loses its literal identity and becomes something governed instead by rhythm, structure, repetition, and memory.

Whether through thousands of meticulously rendered contour lines or expansive fields of overlapping color, Tiu constructs paintings that reward sustained observation. Forms continuously reveal and conceal themselves, allowing viewers to experience multiple readings within a single composition. Her works suggest that perception is not passive but constantly shaped by time, movement, and personal experience.

Oil on canvas allows Tiu to build surfaces that are both highly controlled and visually fluid. The resulting paintings transform ordinary subjects into immersive environments where line becomes texture, color becomes atmosphere, and familiar imagery is reimagined as an open field of visual possibility.

Tiu has exhibited extensively in Manila, Bangkok, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, and Spain, and her works have been included in local and international auctions. She has held twelve solo exhibitions.
